If you enabled the passcode lockscreen on your iPhone, the photos and emails can be still accessible without unlocking it. Here is how to
1. Swipe up to open control center
2. Choose Alarm clock
3. Long press Lock button
4. When the Power off option comes cancel and immediately double click the home button, which will give you access to the multitasking screen
5. You can access camera from there, and photo gallery from the camera.
From this photo gallery you can access all the photos and can even mail/twitter the photos using the account.
