Opera Reaches 300Million Users and switches to Webkit from Presto

Opera announced that they have reached 300 Million users across all its browsers. Opera delivers browsers supporting devices like Phones, Tablets, Computers and Televisions. Opera support Android and iOS.

They also announced that they are going to change their rendering engine from Presto to Webkit . Presto is a rendering engine developed by opera itself. Opera claimes that they can a lot more resources to the other sections like developing more features etc.

"It makes more sense to have our experts working with the open source communities to further improve WebKit and Chromium, rather than developing our own rendering engine further. Opera will contribute to the WebKit and Chromium projects, and we have already submitted our first set of patches: to improve multi-column layout."
