Today I wanted a burning software since i was using Nero 7 trial version. So I just searched and found few. Tried and burned to DVD. Telling you the truth am not tried any Cd burning, but think that also works fine.
So here is my two choices both worked fine for me
1. IMG BURN
ImgBurn supports a wide range of image file formats - including BIN, CUE, DI, DVD, GI, IMG, ISO, MDS, NRG and PDI.
It can burn Audio CD's from any file type supported via DirectShow / ACM - including AAC, APE, FLAC, M4A, MP3, MP4, MPC, OGG, PCM, WAV, WMA and WV.
It supports Unicode folder/file names, so you shouldn't run in to any problems if you're using an international character set.
ImgBurn supports all the Windows OS's - Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista and 2008 (including all the 64-bit versions). If you use Wine, it should also run on Linux and other x86-based Unixes.
It's a very flexible application with several advanced features that are often lacking in other tools, especially when it comes to burning DVD Video discs. It supports all the latest drives without the need for updates (including booktype / bitsetting / advanced settings on many of the major ones - i.e. BenQ, LiteOn, LG, NEC, Plextor, Samsung, Sony).
2. CD Burn Xp
- burn any Data on CD-R/CD-RW/DVD+R/DVD-R/DVD+RW/DVD-RW/DVD-RAM/BD/HD-DVD, including double layer mediums
- import previous (ISO 9660) sessions and edit existing file structure on CD/DVD
- quick- and full-erase disc
- copy data discs (possible copy-protection is not bypassed)
- create Audio-CDs from mp3, wav, ogg, flac and wma files
- add single or multiple tracks from existing audio-CDs directly to your new compilation without ripping tracks before (add cda-files)
- play audio-files with integrated audio player
- gapless audio-CDs supported (disc-at-once-mode)
- burn ISO files to CD
- create your own ISO files
- convert bin- and nrg-files to ISO
- save CDs/DVDs as ISO file to disc

So before you buy a paid version just give a try on these and a trial version of the software you are going to buy.
