Microsoft released http://amirunningxp.com/ which will tell you if you are running Windows XP or not. And if you are running Windows XP Microsoft will stop supporting you product from April 8th 2014.
Microsoft is providing PCmover Express for Windows XP which can move your data like files and settings from your Windows XP PC to a newer version of Windows like windows 7 or Windows 8 or 8.1. It can copy Music, Videos, Emails, Settings, User profiles.
This tool will be available to download later this week from this link. PCmover Express is a paid application to migrate data , as of now they are giving 60% discount for XP users. If you can wait few more days you can get it from Microsoft for free or you may buy it from Laplink (link in the below article)
It is recommended to upgrade tour Windows XP systems to newer windows such as Windows 7 or 8, as when Microsoft stops the support for the product security issues may rise.
