Every user wants the best light weight browser for them. It should have all the features and also it must be light on memory usage. Here we will have a look on the memory usage of the 5 browsers to find out which is the best light weight browser.
I was an Opera fan, before when it was using its own engine, now opera is just another chrome, now using Firefox as my default browser.Memory usage of the Firefox seemed very high , so I just thought of testing Opera and Chrome in comparison with it.

Just tested the memory usage of three browsers Opera, Chrome and Firefox. Unlike Firefox the opera and Chrome creates separate tasks for each tab. Used the latest versions of browsers. Opera is the latest version 15 which is based on the chromium.
No add-on or extensions are used, opera have the speed dials set. Cleared all browsing history and data. Tested on Windows 7 64bit.

Back to one tab, closed 3 tabs
So still the Firefox seems to be good, for me on the memory usage. The memory usage of Operas previous version, opera 12 is better than the Opera 15 it seems.
I would like to test some other browsers like K-Meleon and Qupzilla, here am just sharing a 4 tabbed memory usage only
The memory footprint of K-Meleon is very light compared to other browsers including Opera, Firefox or Chrome.
Are you looking for a browser which is light on memory foot print ? you can try K-Meleon. K-Meleon is using the Gecko engine which is used by the Firefox also.
